Walk in a random direction and stop in every pub you see for a Guinness until you find one you like or meet other people doing the same. Cross the river at least once.

Trad music will be in most places on Paddy's weekend, traditionally O'Donoghues and The Cobblestone are the places I'd recommend for this (again they will be absolutely crammed this weekend).

There's cultural stuff and gigs happening, easy enough to google. If they're people who are into like club nights and gigs and cooler music stuff I'd suggest the Nialler9 Gig Guide for stuff on over the weekend.

Museum wise I quite like the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin Castle and the Hugh Lane gallery. Also the National Portrait Gallery and the "Dead Zoo" (Natural History Museum). All free in, usually a fee for temporary exhibitions.

General pub and nightlife wise I think there's a few different axes of interest:
- Dawson St. has Cafe en Seine, 37, and Peruke&Periwig
- George's St./Fade St has Fade St. Social, No Name Bar, Brogans, Chelsea Drugstore, Drury Buildings, Bootleg, and more. A good vibe.
- nextdoor on South William St. has Dakota/The Rag Trader, Pygmalion.

All those are bar/club type situations. If you really wanted a more trad old man pint they could fight their way into Cobblestone, Grogan's, or The Long Haul.

That post was a bit tailored to Paddy's Day weekend.

Guinness Storehouse and Teelings Distillery are both good imo.

What failed imaginer recommends is good. Partner and her friends did a bunch of them and it hit the mark.

The offer was incoherent so I just left it at "heh, alright".
