There's a lot of octopusses that use their ability to walk around on land to help get around in shallow areas, maybe go exploring tide pools for trapped fish, and even the ones that aren't supposed to do that seem to know what to do if they wind up on land. Squids don't know poo poo about the land though.

It's fun to see the tanks I used to walk by every day in the lab show up in this thread! (the hand belongs to a former undergrad helper of mine who went on to do his master's on lumpfish) For content, a very stylish little spider crab. I think those are bryozoans on her head.

Well it’s not just the fish that are the reason for that site being off-limits. Devil’s Hole has a body count that’s suspected to be due to a hole at the bottom that connects to thousands of miles of underground cave systems, and may be sucking in divers delirious from narcosis, never to be seen again.
