Im immune to capsaicin and it sucks because I miss spicy food. I can taste the flavor, and super spicy food still fucks up my stomach, but the actual “spiciness” reaction doesn’t work on me. So it can be mildly dangerous.

like i mean yes i can power through a bowl but it doesnt taste like something you should eat, its not a good spicy it just tastes like capsaicin and citric acid

yeah, the extracts are a thing and a problem. actually-spicy real peppers grown in the growth-stunting way that's needed for the really spicy stuff ends up being like $10/lb, $20/lb, you can't put that stuff in cheap processed food. and you really need the proper growing methods to do it so it can't be a mass commodity product

buldak is borderline too spicy, but it also pairs very nicely with a big old glass of milk that most other spicy SE Asian dishes don’t
