His original plan was to rename Tweets to X's. I guess someone must have convinced him how incredibly dumb that was and now they are just Posts.

Elon dreamed up a little thing called PayPal. His Tesla Motors and SolarCity companies are making a clean, renewable-energy future a reality…his SpaceX [is] reopening space for exploration…it’s a paradox that Elon is working to improve our planet at the same time he’s building spacecraft to help us leave it.

I've transported more weight/mass than that on my bicycle. Also, that wheelbarrow was probably bought at the same time as those bags of soil, judging from the fact that it looks completely unused. Also also, I haven't had to do that kind of work since I was a teenager, but the fact that he didn't even bother aligning the wheelbarrow in the direction he was planning to take off in is like manual labour 101.

It had to face the camera to make the shot look better. It’s all appearance over substance for these idiots. But yeah it’s really funny that he managed to fit most of what he brought with the truck in one wheelbarrow. If the carrying capacity of the truck rivals an average car’s trunk, I’m not impressed

Lol that jumped out at me too, and not just because I spent today and yesterday carting rubble around and mixing concrete in a wheelbarrow just like that. (I haven't drunk this much Gatorade in my entire life god drat)

Absolute last thing I want to do after that much manual labor is get into a truck with a loving LCD and interior that I wouldn't want to get covered in sweat and grime and tar residue

It's probably less effective space than a mid-size suv's trunk. The metal body is too thick, the low angled trunk roof limits the height of what can be stored (there's a reason every other truck has an unangled trunk cover), and the sides of the trunk angle sharply inwards at the bottom like a trapezoid.

The thing is meant to look like it has a ton of space due to the sheer size of the truck.

Even though I grew up in the 90s, X will always mean "unknown" to me before "extreme." I don't know why. I grew up with X-treme sports, I play 4-X games. But X means unknown.

XFinity = the finite unknown
XTreme = some sort of galley, we don't know
XPlay = you never know what you're gonna play
4X = 4 dimensions of unknown

Students in Toronto need to do 40 hours of volunteering in order to graduate from high school. I think it’s fine, there are lots of places to do it, they get a novel experience and maybe the beginning of a skill, and a different connection to their community. I haven’t thought too deeply about it, tbh, but I don’t hear a lot of complaints (especially relative to the rest of the educational policies here). Probably there should be an exception mechanism for challenging cases. My kid is going to do patient support at a hospital, which means a TB test and background check and such, but most placements seem to be simpler.

I think it has to be at a charitable organization and not just like free labour sweeping floors at a supermarket. I hope so.
