There are some absolute bangers for live shows but a lot of them end up feeling really rushed (understandably) which sucks when it is for stuff I want to hear them talk about, and since the big ticket items tend to be saved for live shows (again, understandably) it's a bit sad if you're not in the audience.

Return To the Planet of The Apes is a lot of fun in the same way that Star Trek: TAS is. Just a lot of reused animation and occasionally clever ideas.

Cael posted:Houston show was really good. I’d never seen Robocop 2 and holy hell it was just the right level of stupid for the gang to riff on. I feel bad that it was kind of a small crowd, but Houston is absolutely a terrible city for comedy—local or even touring typically—so I expect they’ll have a better Austin crowd. I would love to see a live show, if they would ever come within hours of where I live. It's not even close to an option for me. So every time a live episode is lost, it really sucks. But I'm also not about to ask them to come to Orlando. I'm not a monster.

There's so many weird on-set stories, character actor impressions, Stephen King being fully wacked out on coke and awesome soundtrack to talk about. It's a real drat shame we got a very lackluster live episode for that awesome movie.

Yea I don’t care for the live shows much. Live podcasts are weird whenever I’ve listened to any show that does them. The streaming live shows being lost forever is a travesty, I’d like to hear that Flash episode one day.

I also have never really been a fan of live podcast recordings. Possibly because I've never heard one that was recorded in such a way that it was easy to hear without having audience laughter and chatter overtake the discussion. I'm sure they're a blast live but the taped sets turned into episodes for this or any other podcast are an automatic skip for me.

To be fair the Gleep Glossary has confirmed that will happen even to in-studio recordings!

Doug Loves Movies manages to sound good for most of their live episodes, but he's been doing it forever. Like, it was primarily a live Podcast that he started back in 2006 that only started doing non-live episodes during the quarantine, and he still does a bunch of live episodes. So he's got a lot of experience there.

Compared to other shows I've listened to in the past I don't mind the whm live shows cause they don't really play to the audience, the worst thing about them is the short length but that's not even a big deal

I've listened to more than a few How Did This Get Made live shows and they were all great.
