ya i wound up using two separate layers in Ps, reducing the opacity on the top one, then importing into Lr since it's a lot more intuitive for me to make edits there. but i would like to get more practice in Ps, too.

brought my camera to a concert for the first time. got to see a band i've been a fan of since i was a teenager play in a little skate shop packed with people. it was great. a lot of the photos came out pretty blurry/not great, but i though this one looked pretty cool with how the singer was pretty still and everything else was super fuzzy

my partner's grad school reception was coming up and i wanted to get some nice shots of her. i've had my camera for a while now but i didn't really start reading up on how to use it until a few weeks ago. graduation was friday, learned a lot about how little i know about the importance of lighting, and today my friend and i went to sfmoma to check out the new audio exhibit and snap a few pics my main questions are basically "everything" but i suppose starting with crop. of these three, i'm not sure which one i'd consider the "best" arrangement of the bunch and i'm not sure how to put my preference for one over another into words. secondly for lighting, i feel like i could go brighter on the whites, but playing with contrast made things look too harsh? taken with a fujifilm xe3 and 23mm at f/2

Knot My President! posted:but i suppose starting with crop. For dramatic lighting i think you want a dramatic crop, pull out and bottom center the subject. I might even Photoshop a whole photo length of pure black onto the top of those
